Ciintia est noire\, d’origine angolaise. Ses parents\, immigrés\, lui conseillent de ne pas réagir : « on a de la chance d’être ici ». Ses parents ont fui la guerre civile. Mais Ciintia est une rebelle. Elle apprend à réagir à ce type de situations\, tout en arrondissant les angles. Elle ne se laisse pas faire. Devenue adolescente\, elle commence à penser que ses parents sont de vrais paillassons soumis. Elle explose quand son père lui raconte sa façon de réagir face aux blagues racistes de son patron : il s’est tû. Pas un mot. Face à son imcompréhension\, elle en vient à croire que si ses ancêtres ont été des esclaves\, c’est de leur faute avec un tel comportement. \n\n\nEn rencontrant le personnage de Kimpa Vita\, une prophétesse du 17ème siècle qui a organisé la lutte contre l’envahisseur portuguais et l’esclavage de son peuple\, elle réalise qu’elle ne connaît pas son histoire et que ces vécus de luttes ne lui ont jamais été racontés. Elle comprend face au parcours tragique de Kimpa Vita que celui de ses parents doit être plus compliqué que ce qu’elle croit. Aura-t-elle le courage de le leur en parler ?   \n\n
